  1. Baby in Time

Honouring pregnancy and infant loss, since 2019

  1. In 2019 we worked with Remy Downing on a piece of jewellery for women who had experienced miscarriage. Remy had recently founded Baby in Time, a project to break the silence around pregnancy loss. The pendant we designed together is the size and weight of an embryo at 7-8 weeks, the age at which most miscarriages occur. It is small enough to sit close to the heart, and discreet enough to wear every day. Baby in Time as an organisation has since closed. The piece continues, with Remy’s blessing, and $80 from every necklace sold now goes to Pink Elephants Australia.

The Baby in Time Necklace is a way to honour your angel baby - a tangible reminder to keep them close to your heart. In a time that can feel invisible and silent, these pieces are created to hold space for love, grief, memory and connection. We’re so proud to be partnering with Kate and Kole and giving back to Pink Elephants Support Network, who provide support, resources and community for families navigating pregnancy and infant loss. Together, we hope to help remove the silence and stigma around loss and remind people that they are never alone.

  2. The Design

A small solid bean, first printed in wax, then poured in silver or gold and hand finished in our Newcastle studio. The size and weight are deliberate, an acknowledgement of something so often unacknowledged.

Available in 9ct and 18ct yellow, rose and white gold, and solid silver. Each can be engraved with an initial, a date, or a name, and a flush set birthstone can be added for your baby in time’s due date.

  1. Why We Made It

1 in 4 Australian women will experience a miscarriage. On average, six stillborn babies are born in Australia every day. For most of those women there is no funeral, no formal mourning, often no public acknowledgement that anything has happened at all. We made Baby in Time because the women in our lives, including women on our team, told us they wanted something to hold. A piece that says: this was real, and I remember.

  2. Where Your $80 Goes

Every Baby in Time necklace sold sends $80 to Pink Elephants Australia. Pink Elephants is the only Australian charity dedicated specifically to early pregnancy loss, and their 1:1 peer support programme matches women with trained Peer Ambassadors who have experienced loss themselves. $80 funds a full support session for a woman who would otherwise grieve alone.
