How would you describe what you do and the work you create?
I would say I’m creative-at-large. I have started my career as fashion editor and stylist, worked at Vogue, L’Officiel, number of independent beautiful publications, and up-coming brands. I have always been interested in fashion more like an art form, rather than just a practical element. I love projects that carry messages, narratives and have long term effects. I have created my creative consulting company On The Map Creative to be able to work with brands and projects in that direction.
How would you describe your approach to style?
Since I have been working in fashion pretty much my entire life, - its always changing. At work, I adapt to the idea or direction we’re taking, and make sure styling is true to the purpose. I would always try to add some art elements to it, of course. In my personal style, - I love reasonable experiments, but always stick to pieces that work best on me. Always hunting vintage - mixing up high end vintage and fun new pieces - is one of my favourite. And I really pay attention to the garment, its history and how it was made.
You’ve lived and worked across different cities and cultures. How have those environments shaped your eye and the way you interpret fashion?
I have to admit, the geography and mentality of each city is very different, and it's actually one of my favorite parts of experiencing each one of them, by going to the places, watching people, and getting to know the creative communities. I think the core of my style doesn’t really change much, but it does adapt some local elements. I like to play with colors, textures and specific narratives. I truly believe there is no better education - than travelling (and living), experiencing different cultures. I love history, I love crafts and local art practices - and at the end this knowledge just creates an absolutely unique body of work and approach to each project.
