Your guide to our private jewellery appointments across Australia

  1. What is a Kate & Kole Residency?

A Kate & Kole Jewellery Residency brings our Newcastle studio experience to selected cities across Australia.

Hosted in a carefully chosen space, each Residency offers private, one-on-one appointments with our team. You can try on engagement rings, compare wedding bands, view fine jewellery and discuss a custom or bespoke design in person.

For clients who cannot easily visit our Newcastle jewellery studio, a Residency is an opportunity to experience our pieces firsthand, ask questions and receive personal guidance before making a decision.

  1. A Private Jewellery Appointment in your City

Choosing jewellery is a personal experience, particularly when you are looking for an engagement ring or wedding bands. Photographs and videos are helpful, but seeing a piece in person can provide a much clearer sense of its size, proportions and how it feels to wear.

During a Kate & Kole Residency appointment, you will have dedicated time with our team in a private, relaxed setting. We will talk through what you are looking for, answer your questions and guide you through the designs that best suit your preferences.

There is no expectation to arrive with every detail decided. You may already know the exact ring you would like to try, or you may be at the beginning of your search. Both are welcome.

  1. What can you explore at a Kate & Kole Residency?

Our jewellery Residencies are designed for clients considering engagement rings, wedding bands, fine jewellery and bespoke pieces.

    Engagement rings

You can try on a selection of Kate & Kole engagement rings and explore different diamond shapes, settings, band widths, stone sizes and proportions.

Our team can guide you through oval, round, emerald, radiant, pear, marquise and elongated cushion-cut diamonds, along with solitaire, trilogy, bezel and Toi et Moi engagement ring designs.

We can also discuss your preferred metal, budget, lifestyle and production timeline. Kate & Kole engagement rings are available in recycled yellow, white and rose gold, as well as platinum.

    Wedding bands

A Residency appointment allows you to try different wedding bands alongside your engagement ring.

We can help you compare curved, contoured and straight wedding bands, as well as plain, diamond-set and statement designs. Our team will consider the fit, proportions and spacing between your rings to help you create a pairing that feels balanced and comfortable.

    Custom and bespoke jewellery

If you are looking for something made specifically for you, a Residency appointment is the ideal place to begin.

Bring along references, saved images or ideas you have been considering. We can talk through stone selection, precious metals, setting styles, proportions and personal details such as engraving.

You do not need to arrive with a finished design. Our team will help translate your ideas into a clear direction before the design and production process begins.

    Fine jewellery

Selected Kate & Kole fine jewellery may also be available to view during a Residency, including rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets.

Fine jewellery appointments and particular pieces may be available on request, depending on the location. If there is something specific you would like to see, please contact our team before booking so we can confirm availability.

  1. What happens during your appointment?

Your appointment begins with a conversation about what you are looking for, what you are drawn to and any practical considerations that may shape your decision.

From there, you will be able to try on pieces and compare different designs. Our team can guide you through:

The appointment is designed to be informative and personal. You will have time to look closely at each piece, see how it sits on your hand and ask questions throughout the process.

  1. Do I need to know my budget before booking?

You do not need to have an exact budget confirmed, but an approximate range can help our team guide you towards the most relevant options.

For engagement rings, your budget may influence the diamond size, shape, setting and metal you choose. We will explain the available options clearly and help you understand where changes can be made without losing the design elements that matter most to you.

  1. Can I bring my partner, family member or friend?

Yes. You are welcome to bring your partner or someone you trust to your Residency appointment.

If you are planning a surprise proposal, you can attend alone or bring a friend or family member who knows your partner's style. Our team can also help with ring sizing and guide you through options that allow for resizing after the proposal.

Our Residency appointments vary in pricing. Some locations may require a small booking deposit to secure your time, which is fully redeemable against any Kate & Kole purchase.

Most appointments run for around 30 minutes to an hour, giving you unhurried time to try on pieces, ask questions and discuss your options.

  5. What should I bring to my appointment?

Saved reference images, Pinterest boards or details of a piece you have seen online are all helpful to bring along. If you already wear a ring you would like to match or pair with, feel free to bring that too, though it is not essential.

  6. Can I purchase a piece on the day of my appointment?

Yes. If you find a piece you love during your Residency appointment, our team can guide you through sizing, payment and next steps on the spot. Custom and bespoke designs follow a separate design and production timeline, which we will talk through during your appointment.

  7. What if there isn't a Residency in my city yet?

New Residency cities are added throughout the year based on demand. If your city isn't currently listed, get in touch with our team to register your interest, or consider visiting our Newcastle studio, where private appointments are available year-round.
